Soothing Tharoor

Soothing - Tharoor

Many thoughts, faces & sights
Languages, states & souls
All gathered & camped in a dome
In the city of cultural capital
To hear the voice they aspire
Some may have read him,
And have come to hear him
Some to behold his persona
Some to know his charismatic pen
Children’s mind looking up to him
Adult agendas to share on facebook
Some will take the signature on books
Some will take home pictures & smiles
Suddenly the wait was broken with uproar
A smiling face with a humble gesture enters
A lovely ‘Namaste’ & pretty better half
Standing ovation for the grand entry
Although we Indians have IST
Which we all know as Indian Stretchable Time
A humble apology echoes the Dome
Silenced by a thundering yet soothing voice
The Writer, Minister & Husband Shashi Tharoor
Thus begin a day of night at shjibf .

This Poem was written Before & after Mr. Shashi entered the Auditorium

when the world wakes up tomorrow

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime.

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime. wiki leaks, google maps, g.mails, the Xbox play and i.phone

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime. we all tweet, the news and thoughts, sitting in cozy office and a coffee

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime. the bails outs, the stock markets and the emergency meetings

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime. it will spin on its axis, same markets of iraq and karachi, & afghans

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime. Same complains conspiracies theories and blame game

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime. Constructions, accusations, malls and shopping festivals

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime. Traffic jams, blackberry messaging, office reporting and bills

when the world wakes up tomorrow, nothing will change, not a dime.

That book fair it was..

That book fair it was

Where I met books
From east and from west,
Books with faces,
Books with emotions
Books that tell tales
Book that laughs aloud
That book fair it was

Meeting people
Meeting thoughts
Meeting hands
Meeting eyes
Some smiling
Some searching
That book fair it was

Thoughts lost in thoughts
Minds lost in minds
Searching nothing but books
Turning pages, noting books
Asking favorites, asking prices
Carrying in hands, purse or trolleys
That book fair it was

Releasing books, releasing thoughts
Infecting thoughts, moving thoughts
Reflecting thought, evolving thoughts
Spreading thoughts, encouraging thoughts
Sitting thought moving thoughts
Thoughts on shelves, thoughts in hands
Thoughts by seeing, reading and writing
That book fair it was..

Thought, created, wrote and bounded words
Year to year, architect*, wrote the words
Wishing his people to read and write
Something likes of Him, from Him
Encouraged His nation and other alike
His was ‘For Love of the written Word’
He created a fair of all the fairs
That book fair it was.

We meet again..

We meet again..

Lets try meeting
Beyond politics and
Beyond money, somewhere
Its more spiritual,
A little more calm
Talks of piety, of
Benefit to us and others
Some talk of ghazali
Some talk of rumi
Into stars of hawking
Into cup of Ghalib
Some iqbal with ‘Jawab’
Some sultan with culture
Into books of enlightment
Into lanes of creative arts
Let there be some chai,
Let there be some briyani
Into the atmosphere
Of hunger of mind and body
Lets meet under stars
Lets meet on seas,
Ask few questing
Answer few more
And keep some for
Other days, when
We meet again..

I feel the Love of Written Word

I feel; the love of written word

I feel; the pulse of writing pen

I feel; the beats of thinking heart

i feel the words of thinking mind

I feel; the echo of spoken words

I feel; the call of shelved book

i feel; the need to ink the pages

i feel; to color the blank canvas

i feel; the urge to write more..

a friend, a partner

Little memories, little moments
I had spend , sitting beside
Diving her, from home
And back, to office
That I miss a friend a partner
Some times in silence
Some times listening
Sometime in sleep
Drive past in my car
That I miss a friend a partner
Dress in tees, or in
Traditional Indian cloths
Style of modern but
A culturally rooted she is
That I miss a friend a partner
Mostly surrounded by
Troubles, yet blessed
To be out of them too
Have a cute little angle
That I miss a friend a partner
Little naughty, little angry
Little caring, little carefree
Likes jellies, likes briyani
Favorite is maroon, likes
Black too. Smiles and laughs
That I miss a friend a partner
Oh! She, I recall, and think
For the reason of simplicity
May be little caring or may be
That I miss a friend, partner..
Missing I sprinkle fragrance
Form her drawer I take chi
Pink bottle of her memories
The way she seem to smell
The way, I recall her.
That I miss a friend a partner

Students

Students
Wake to new dawn
Live a another day
Students

Just the other day
Another suicide
News so common
I feel the pain,
So meek is their will
So fast they give up
Even animals don’t
Who and why fear
The fear of failure
When the world
Was created in hope
We hear he/she
Committed suicide
Most of the case
Is just fear

Students
wake up!
Ur the future not
The pale hopeless
Your parents, siblings
Your teachers, your friends
Your community, country
Rest on your shoulder
Take a breath to live
Be a sign of better tomorrow
Think positive and live
Another day
For God is with the trials
And
Helps who help themselves

Students
Arise and rise above fear
Marks and grades are
But the beginning of race
Like the counting before race
Race starts once collage finishes
Once you attain the literacy
You are the hope of all

Students
Rise above the criticism
For even the gold is burnet in fire
Then how came purity be know

Students
Rise above the comparison
And run like a race horse
It does not see the sides
It sees it destination
Like the arrow be swift
Like the river be agile
Like the wind spread
Like the eagle sour high
Brave the fear
Stop the insanity
Suicide is not the answer
It remains the question for ever
What the parents lack?
What the education lack?
What the teacher’s lack?
What the faith lack?
What you lack?
And none can answer

Students
Arise above and face the fear
Forge your own destiny
Ride the storm and tell the world
You are the future..
For know that
Students don’t have
Race, religion, color or age
A student is just

A student!

Those moments, those friends

Those moments, those friends

The long baykaar days, musti days

Bunking the classes, chatting plans

Mimicking sirs, hanging in canteens

Sweating outdoor games, chess on table

Those moments those friends

Complains, report cards, extra classes

Come good times, some hard times

New shirt old pants, sports shoes, blue ties

PT chores, maths drills, chem. Labs, bio dissects

Reading books, mugging formulas, making chits

Those moments, those friends

School trips, class parties, colas, samoosa and Bagfuls

Teasing girls, writing letters, copying poems, graffities

Running races, high jumps, javelin & relays

Cups trophies, certificate, victories, defeats and team works

Those moments, those friends

Those class photos, albums, bulging specks, thing and fats

Those warning by teachers, those cunning punishments.

Out standing students and kneeling bright bulbs

Bulling ways, those canteens fights, ragged faces

Commenting on Ms teachers, cracking mr teachers

Those tales those notes behinds, those hands those fingers

What the heck

Those moments, those friends

The IT class, windows and office, excel to words

And games to play

Pass on floppies, exchange viruses, Mario on TV

Terminator on cassette

C++, Novel Netware, lotus 123, get out and go free

Crash of Y2K, long lost we share

Tea breaks, Prayer break, Ramadan breaks

Strangers to friends, best to buddies

We depart and meet, long distance

Those moments those friends

Dial to heart full of friends

Get in touch, keep In touch

Email, chats, messengers and Google,

Searching each other batch of 1997 we meet

Face to each another and face book conferences

Posting those pictures we meet and recall

Those moments, those friends

Belief

Belief

Belief is the thing that will guide you;
Through tortuous ways and lonesome days;
That, perhaps there will be a life new;
Beyond what we see, and will know what pays.

A slimmer of hope that lingers on and on;
Through belief, many have against hopelessness won;
Success will kiss your feet; you'll be an icon;
To those who are between confusion torn.

Belief, is a thing that will lead you;
Through impediments great and sad days;
That; maybe it will be a light new;
To guide you through those devilish ways.

A ray of ecstasy once you survive;
In a pool of surety you have dived;
That happiness will be surrey survived;
And you will feel more then alive.

Believe, is a quality;
Not touch nor seen;
A thought causing heart to melt;
If you don't believe then confused you have been.

A thing that cause one to live;
No matter what you have forgone;
Believe is a medicine spiritual all has sworn;
Through which all looks bright and unsurely is gone.

I smell the fragrance of Hind coming…

‘I smell the fragrance of Hind coming’

The days are near,
The last day
The judgment day,
We, our deeds, bring
On up the time,
Leaving us orphan
The goodness depart
Raised beyond worlds
In the Majestic Arsh of Lord
But here on the wet earth
We stand in sorrow,
Behind the dam of tears
Who to look for Guide
The humble hand that
Shelter us, shade us
From treachery of worlds
The Beloved of Mustafa
Left to meet the Beloved Himself
Left the community in peace
With a kindle of hope in his Ahl
Do not despair, land of Malabar
The House of Mustafa is ever green
No harm nor ill words shall touch the delheej
For there stands Jibreel and Mikaeel AS
There stands the army of Angles to guard
For today they are in Janaza of Beloved
Groom him to take to beloved Mustafa,
For again Mustafa’s words rang the heavens
‘ I smell the fragrance of Hind coming….!!

My Mother’s lullaby

My mother’s lullaby

I recall but faintly, those nights
Little I was, cuddling my mother
For she with her tender love
Nourished and nurtured me
With Mother love,
The Blessing of Al mighty
With Merciful love
I recall in her nightingale voice
She read me ayats and Duas
She though my innocent heart
if not my tender mind
I recall those night
When angles descended
To witness this Blessed love
They too swing
like the swerving dervishes
with my mothers duas and munajats
The Ayat Al Kursi, the Three Khuls
Darood to my Beloved Mustafa
The divine Asma ul Huna
Call upon His mercy @ depth on night.
Clinging to my mothers Nightingale voice
Repeating in the broken lines
Or try to, little I was
Drift into heavens of my mother
Accompanies by angles in sleep
For they too find peace within
The peace of Holy Words.

The Rose & nightingale revisited

The roses in hand
Has the fragrances of blood,
The land, which I left to earn,
Was not like the one I left,
How could be same,
Even I have changed,
The nightingales have migrated to
Not to gardens but to cities too
Looking for livelihood not Cuckoo
For love to has price to pay,
The inflation and rescission
Have hit all. Like a bring wall
Believes of man have changed
From communist to capitalist
Socialist some, some atheist
Some peacemaker, some terrorist
World spins on axis, of power or evil
What can I do, whom I can complain,
What does my existence mean to you
Reader of these lines,
Do i move your thoughts to mine
Or does your concern move my pen
What binds us, stranger to humanity
What relations does nightingale
And rose share
Is it the pain of nightingale or
Is it the redness of rose?
That market sells

Read

Read.

Aroused the sleeping mankind with the utterance of ‘Read’
And gave the creative hands a pen, to write
The two torches to lead away from dark ages
Two keys to the city of knowledge
Take o! mankind these gifts of God
Wake up to new dawn, that Mustafa woke
Seek the wisdom of peace and kindness
Seek to remove ignorance of evil thoughts
Read what He has thought Adam
And give Angels a reason again
To bow in reverence to Blessing of Great
Show the devil his path to defeat
Read again, read, write again,
Read in the name of you Lord

Dances of the Wind

Dances of the Wind

A sprinkling of symphony lingers my ears
As though seducing me to move on its rhythm.

It had a distinct taste; which intoxicated my mind
It had a distinct scent; which intoxicated my spirit.

A aroma of ecstasy spread in my body
For I was amidst the mysterious nature.

I had joined it in the ‘Dances of the Wind’

My lips had only one chant to repeat
My body had only one position to hold.

For I had joined the exotic nature in reverences.

The Time has beheld its count and Wind the flow.
The Sun has beheld its light and Moon the Glitter
The Life has beheld its genesis and Death the havoc.

All the elements seems to pause for the moment.
All the work seems to pause for repose.
For it was the Time,

All join together to summon the Almighty.

Which favors of God would you Deny - atheist

Denying that nothing exist,
But some thing and you exist,
Denying that nothing exist
But he, her & your thought exist
Denying that nothing exist
But sun, moon and you exist
Denying that nothing exist
But earth, water, air and you exist
Denying that nothing exist
But memories, emotions and you exist
Denying that nothing exist
But that cat, dog, cow and you exist
Denying that nothing exist
But pen, paper and you exist
Denying that nothing exist
But Temple, Church, Masjid and you exist
Denying that nothing exist
But i, God and you exist
Which favors of God would you Deny*.

When I Closed My Eyes

When I Closed My Eyes

And when I close my eyes
Nothing exist

All the world around I forget
All the relations, All the pain
All the sorrows, All the joys
I forget

And when I close my eye
Nothing exist

All the thoughts I forget
All the love, All the beauty
All the smile , All the emotions
I forget

And when I close my eyes
Nothing exist

All the mankind I forget
All the believes, All the Traditions
All culture, All the rites
I forget

And when I close my eyes
Nothing exist
